Slow and Steady...

April 16 - 23
Despite the fact that we woke up to 4 inches of snow on Friday the 17th, the weather has settled in to a comfortable springtime temperatures.  Comfortable to us means we can wear a jacket and work without sweating!

And work is all we have done for the past few days. We are determined to get the trees and branches cleared east of the house. This accomplishes several purposes besides clearing the area of debris in preparation for the granary razing.  We have split and piled enough wood to warm us into February 2021.  And best of all, the more wood I lift, the less aches/more energy I seem to have!  I love our "fitness center" under the blue sky.

Shiva keeps us company but finds the whole operation boring. There don't seem to be enough mice to keep her entertained. Which hopefully means that RocKat has been doing his job....not snakes!  And that is another reason I want to finish this job while the weather is cool.  In case we have slithery pests doing pest control, I do NOT want to meet them!

We were so busy that I did not take pictures when the sky was clear.  It seems to be a deeper blue since there are fewer jet contrails up there.

Yesterday, April 23rd, rain finally drove us in to the house.  Rest time, baking bread and sewing masks for Savanna Helping Savanna.

We did finally get the Solar Renewable Energy Credits payment one year and four months after the solar array was installed and the paperwork submitted... but that is a post for another day.  Glad the US Post Office is still in service! Let's hope it stays that way.
