Savanna, Illinois

Birch Knolls is the name of the farm where we live in NW Illinois. 50 years ago my father named it after the beautiful trees that shine in the woods. As far as "knolls" - that may have been wishful thinking. The hills around us near the Mississippi River are devilishly steep. These are not small hills unless you compare them to mountains. This blog is a diary of what is keeping us busy around this retired farm.
